Spreadsheet basics

An Aeluka Sheets ledger is a real spreadsheet. If you have used Excel or Google Sheets, the grid will feel familiar. This page covers the everyday actions.

Editing cells

Click a cell to select it, then type to enter a value. Press Enter to confirm and move down, or Tab to move right. Double click a cell to edit its existing contents. You can enter text, numbers, dates, and formulas.

To enter a formula, start with an equals sign, for example =B2*C2. The grid calculates the result and keeps recalculating as the inputs change.

Saving and exporting

Your ledger autosaves to your account as you work. A small indicator near the top of the ledger shows Saving while a change is being stored and Saved once it is safe. You do not need to press a save button to keep your work.

Two buttons let you take a copy of the file:

  • Save downloads the current ledger as an .xlsx file.
  • Save As downloads it as an .xlsx file and lets you choose the name and location.

This is how you export back to Excel. The download is a snapshot; your live ledger stays in your account.

Undo and redo

Use the keyboard to step backward and forward:

  • Undo: Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac).
  • Redo: Ctrl+Y, or Ctrl+Shift+Z (Cmd+Shift+Z on Mac).

Undo and redo cover everything that changes the grid: your own edits, edits made by the Aeluka Agent, and values that land from a Magic Link submission. If you are typing inside a text box, undo applies to that text box first.

The grid

The grid supports the usual spreadsheet features: selecting ranges, entering formulas, and formatting cells such as bold, alignment, number formats, borders, and colors. You can do this by hand, or ask the Aeluka Agent to do it for you in plain language.

Multiple sheets

A ledger can hold more than one sheet. Sheet tabs sit at the bottom of the grid. Click a tab to switch sheets, and use the tab controls to add or rename sheets. Each Magic Link is built against a specific table on a specific sheet, so keep related data together.
